Through a VANS residency at Halifax, a community float was conceived at the North Branch Public Library. In consultation with the library community members, The Vision project was derived from A. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, after discussions around the issues facing the community. Volunteers brought the float from the parade start at Needham hill, across the Macdonald bridge and along the waterfront to Sullivan’s pond in Dartmouth – a 4km trek (see route below). I would like to thank Visual Arts Nova Scotia, and the North Branch Public Library for their support in realizing this project.
